BCIB members buy West Country zoo

Chris Moiser and Jane Bassett, both BCIB members, have taken over Tropiquaria, a zoo based at Watchet, Somerset.

Tropiquaria is home to number of different species including iguanas, snakes, lemurs, iguanas and meerkats. It contributes to breeding programmes for rare Madagascan tree boas and other snakes, and for the Northern Helmeted Curassow bird. They have no exotic cats yet, but with BCIB members in command, watch this space!

Chris has written four books about the Beast of Bodmin and other mystery cat sightings. He and Jane will host the 2008 Big Cats in Britain conference at Tropiquaria.

Have you seen a big cat in the West Country? Report your sighting to BCIB.
