The Borrowdale, Cumbria sighting (Roundup 2)
“The area of the sighting is in a large valley with the river Derwent running through, very consistent with other sightings I have been to. Along the river is the wood which covers a large area: this is where the cat was seen. There is an old quarry as well, and many caves and plenty of cover, even considering there are many walkers in the area.
"I did not find or see anything, but there was everything there for a big cat and there have been sightings in recent years not that far from this location.” Chris Johnston
The Glossop, Derbyshire scratches (Roundup 3)
“There was barbed wire in parts of the field with horse hair on. We positioned the horse next to the wire and the wounds on the horse were at the same height as the wire. The horse may have become entangled in the wire and panicked and in doing so causing more damage. But I don't think the injuries were done by a big cat.” Chris Johnston
“If a Cat had attacked the Horse I would have expected claw marks higher on the back possibly a little further forward, and two separate sets of gripping claw marks. I think your conclusion that this was caused by barbed wire is likely correct.”
